Roll up for HAF’s Christmas cornucopia!
This year, Katherine Reekie and Tricia Neve have co-ordinated over 30 artists and makers for one of the most varied and engaging Christmas shows ever hosted by Hastings Arts Forum. Last Friday was Buy Nothing Day as well as Black Friday – but this Friday is the launch party for the Christmas Show – a day when you can buy all your gifts in one place – keeping it local and supporting the artistic community. Erica Smith reports.
There is a wide range of original and affordable items for sale, from Christmas cards for £1, fridge magnets for £2.50, glass baubles for a few pounds, all the way through to beautiful feature paintings. There are contributions from well established artists including Danny Mooney and Alex Leadbeater as well as from new members who joined the forum this year. It is an exciting and interesting show where all those special gifts, big or small, can be found.
Contributions from: Catherine Abbot, Lesley Barker, Fi Brown, Claire Buckley, Maureen Connett, Mary Dawson, Juliette Dodd, Julie Gurr, Gill Hamper, Rachel Hoath, Jacqui James, Maureen Jarvis, Anika Jasse, Emily Johns, Alex Leadbeater, Sassy Luke, Bekky May, Danny Mooney, Susan Miller, Charlotte Morris, Caroline Morris, Penny Nice, Tricia Neve, Katherine Reekie, Erica Smith, Sara Thursfield, Vicky Tawamana, Dawn Timmins, Andrew Topliss, Anne Warne, Julie Willard, Clifford Willard and Sally Winter.
Preview night is Friday 4 December 6.30-8.30pm with Christmas drinks, mince pies, and nibbles. Everyone is welcome. The show runs until 20 December and is open daily from 11am–5pm, except Mondays.
