Budget disappoints council leaders

There were no gaffes when the chancellor Philip Hammond delivered his budget in late November but nor was there much on offer for hard-pressed councils. Nick Terdre asked local council leaders for their reaction.

Hastings Borough Council has replaced some 500 metres of broken lighting with new state of the art equipment that is programmable for special effects – and can be synchronised to music to create a wonderful sound and light spectacle.
