Why are local wildlife sites in decline?

Hastings does not lack designated Local Wildlife Sites (LWS), but such sites are vulnerable to the machinations of developers. The Clive Vale LWS in the east part of town is a case in point, as Richard Price writes – recently cleared, its fate is shortly to be decided by a planning inspector.

Pier heroes

Unsung Heroes of Hastings Pier, an exhibition of photographs by local photographer John Cole, is a celebration of the men and women working on Hastings Pier to restore it to its original glory. HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths asked him about the project and his memories of the Pier.
