Gods and monsters descend on De La Warr

Front Row, the annual south coast fashion show promoting innovative fashion design using vintage, sustainable, re-worked and recycled elements, presented another stunning evening last Saturday showcasing exciting designers’ work from Hastings and St Leonards. Bevali Francis reports.

SoCo artists go red

SoCo Artists is an evolving group of professional artists based in East Sussex, which presents a challenging programme of exhibitions, public arts, events and talks in an eclectic range of venues, taking their work to a wide and varied audience. Roz Cran, one of the group, reviews RED, their new show in Trinity Gallery.

The Stables Art Gallery has an exhibition of artist brothers Peter and Robert Greenhalf. Both have a deep love and respect for the natural world, and HOT reporter, Lauris Morgan-Griffiths, went to see their different views of the Sussex countryside.

The perfect Christmas 2014 gift for St Leonards lovers…

Brighton-based photographer JJ Waller first visited St Leonards in 2008, and fell under the spell of the area. Since then he’s made more than 60 visits with his camera, documenting the streets and the people of the town. HOT’s Erica Smith met up with him to find out what attracts him to S’Lens, as he affectionately calls our town.

What’s happening at Combe Haven?

The battle for Combe Haven continues, with the latest concern for the Combe Haven Defenders being ‘The Queensway Gateway’ – a plan to build another road, which will link Queensway with the A21. This will be built through virgin woodland. HOT’s Erica Smith rounds up some of the latest Combe Haven stories.
